Active in gestural abstraction and action-based painting

Oliwia Kacprzak is a contemporary abstract painter whose work is based on gesture, movement, and intuitive marking. She developed her visual language during her time in New York City, where she attended classes at the Art Students League and engaged with the gestural traditions of Jackson Pollock and the New York School.

Her paintings explore the emotional states of the urban environment—quiet early mornings, neon-lit nights, dense grids, and dissolving forms. Using drip techniques, action painting, and gestural abstraction, she creates multi-layered compositions that oscillate between intensity and tranquility. These works are part of her ongoing series *States of the City*, a collection of paintings that interpret the contrasting atmospheres and rhythms of urban life.
