"Neon Beneath" - Oliwia Kacprzak
Oliwia Kacprzak:
Oliwia Kacprzak is a contemporary abstract painter whose work is rooted in gesture, movement, and intuitive mark-making. Her visual language developed during her time in New York City, where she attended classes at the Art Students League and engaged with the gestural traditions associated with Jackson Pollock and the New York School.
Her paintings explore emotional states of the urban environment — quiet early mornings, neon-lit nights, dense grids, and dissolving forms. Working with drip techniques, action painting, and gestural abstraction, she creates multilayered compositions that shift between intensity and stillness. These works form part of her ongoing series States of the City , a body of paintings interpreting the contrasting atmospheres and rhythms of urban life.
